Friends of Wenlock PTA
What do we do?
We currently entertain Wenlock children with discos and movie nights, and have held Mother's Day, Father's Day and Christmas present shops along with the Christmas and Summer Fairs. All these events are hugely popular and successful and have the potential to be expanded further with the help and support of more parents.
These events have enabled us to raise funds and contribute to the purchase of playground equipment, a minibus, fund the end of year 6 party day, sweets and drinks on Christmas dinner day and a membership subscription for school resources. But most importantly the children benefit through having fun!
Who are we?
We are a small team who have put in a lot of effort and make a real difference to the school, along with many of the teachers who stay to help support events. We would really welcome more parents to join us on the PTA - whether this is a full sign up to attend meetings (3 per year + AGM) and events or just to occasionally help in preparing and running events such as making popcorn during the day of the disco, helping set up for fetes, wrapping presents for lucky dip/Santa etc. or even being behind the scenes completely helping gather donations and support.
Joining us is a great way to make new friends and get involved with supporting Team Wenlock and every child here.
Do you work for a company that offers match funding?
If you work for an organisation that has a match funding policy, any money you raise could be matched by your employer. Companies may match the fundraising total for an event, or for the stall that their employee is working on.
We understand that the high street banks, building societies, supermarkets and large corporations are likely to do match funding, but these schemes are not exclusive to the major corporations. If you work for an independent company, they may be interested in charitable giving through match funding too. Please ask them!
We are always very grateful to receive any donations.
Do you run your own business and are willing to make a donation to our raffle? Or maybe you work for someone who would be able to? Please do get in touch, or simply send a donation in to the school office.
